The end is only the beginning

By Marley

Most of the companies and friends I know are closing shop today (15 Dec) for the Christmas holidays. I can't believe it is that time already of the year. A time where you look forward into some good home cooking, eating water melon and drinking without to worry going into the office the next day with a babelas (hang over) and a 13th check! This is also means Up The Creek is coming in closure.

For me it's also then a close off with the blogging till next year when we do actually have something going on in this small town of ours again. It's been a quite yet bumpy ride so far as this blog is fairly new and you never know on whose toes you are going to step on when writing from a fan eye point of view. Mostly I support every type of artists/band/music we do offer (I'm even working at a rave weekend this weekend) but there is still people I feel can grow more, gig more or just continue what they are doing. I got  a lot of respect for the friends and musicians who works very hard during this period. Although I don't know if touring with major other bands in SA down the Cape Town coast qualifies as working hard...perhaps it does. Which ever way enjoy it.

To say the least about closing off and the end is only the beginning it's been a big year for a lot of things. My Christmas present to myself have been NOA new album, shopping for a upgrade in camera and my budget for Up The Creek.

Up The Creek has been on the bucket list and I'm just glad that everything is starting to fall in place. By the 23rd of this month we will know on our transport for sure. This Friday it's meeting the mama bear of Blue Moon about the "A - Team" in barman and ladies going down to rip UTC to pieces. I've heard of the famous Titanic's, I've been fishing to hear what it is but old UTC crew says I have to wait and find out. At least I know that I'm going and that the party will be the biggest one for the start of 2011 after New Years. So if you thinking or planning on going you won't be disappointed, click on This Link to see how you can buy tickets, book a spot to sleep aka pass out and the "Anything That Floats" competition where you will find the Moon Arc. I can't tell anymore than that regarding Moon Arc besides it being a once in a lifetime eh float.

I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy rocking awesomeness New Year. Remember don't drink and drive (smoke and fly) and we will see each other in few weeks for further reading and music listening pleasures.

Peace and Love people!
