“Road trippin’ with my two favourite allies"

By Marley

Yip, I think that song is the theme song for most road trips that has ever happened in the past. Last night (well this morning at ) after I got home from a beer sponsorship with one of my friends, my landlord and allay, Eddie started singing the Red Hot Chili Peppers song. Why is this green earth would he do that now? Well you see this the start of the blog to the road to Up The Creek aka UTC aka Up The Crack (thanks Werner for the giggle).
As you page back into last year blog posts from me you will find I've been speaking about UTC. Last you heard I was still in a hour about our transportation down to the Western Cape Province but as it turned out Eddie is taking leave as well and offered to be the driver and get the car. Awesome. Sorted that one out only in the first week of January. Then came the nightmare, this was so intense that I wanted to throw myself at rush hour traffic, T-Shirt printing. Anyone who has ever done is now wearing a smirk saying “Dumb ass”... it’s hell.

Two people suggested shirts that only the special A-Team and No One's Arc can wear at UTC (and forever and day afterwards) and just to mark such an occasion of so many Nelspartans going down there. Fine so a new friend of mine offered (or did I ask?) to design a few things that incorporates Blue Moon with a pirate idea, Up The Creek and No One's Arc. What he came up with blew me away! But it was after all the businesses close for December and the hunt for printers had to wait. Then of course that 1st week of January is a write off in Nelspruit, nobody was opened until the 13th! At least I got helped out by a good friend, Damian Lopes of Impact Promo and the special "Moon Arc" shirts are in the bag, fresh off the printer.

Back to the road trippin’, my suitcase has been packed 3 weeks ago. Yes – yes stop laughing I’m that type of person who forgets something. Its been something small and other times it was important things like underwear. And I will realise it only when I'm like an hour or 4 away from home or when I get there. Like I said I've repacked my suitcase 6 times, making sure I have enough clothes, the Captain outfit and the float flag. I'm still keeping mum about the details of the float but that is for much later on. I also mostly out of boredom washed all my camping equipment you know like the tent, the fly sheet etc. The mattress is still the box it came in, the beer has been teasing me for ages (I still no desire for it at all today), the Southern Comfort is missing about 3 shots already but hey, who is counting?

My small flat looks like a warehouse for camping equipment at this stage but next week Tuesday all will be halfway packed into the car. By this time next week I will be having my drinks next to the Breede River
